Another Poem

Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be a good day
It will be with a girl that is beautiful absolute
She’ll lay in my arms, and we’ll hold tight
When she looks into my eyes, I’ll tell her that I love her.

I'm 23

It's my birthday today. Today I'm going to meet my girlfriend up in woodbury and we're going to go walk around a lake with the dog she is puppy sitting for. Then tonight some of my friends,
Lindsey and I are going to the drive-in theather in Lake Elmo to catch a flick. I dont know when the movie start, or which ones play in order. But whatever the case will be I'm sure it'll be a pretty fun birthday. Ok I have to go take a shower shave and some laundry before I head out. Later.

I passed

Above is a picture of my girlfriend^

I feel like I have been running around non-stop for the last month. Not that's been all a bad thing. I have ben spending a lot of time with my girlfriend Lindsey. She's such a great, sweet girl that I care for a lot. I took her out to Maggiano's last Tuesday and after that we went to Lake Calhoun to watch the sun set. Although by the time we got there the sun was below the trees we still enjoyed ourselves. Then this last Thursday I went to her Aunt Cindy's house for dinner of chicken and strawberry shortcake. It was absolutely delicious. We then played with her 6 year old cousin Cade (Boy does that kid have energy!!). After that we watched the movie Cars. So Now I want to go on a road trip on Route 66. Funny how a movie can make a person want to do something like that. Later that night after Aunt Cindy's place Lindsey called her about work over the next couple of days and I guess they talked about me. After Lindsey got off the phone she came in with a big smile on her face and say's "Aunt Cindy approves". I told her that's great to her, and it is.

So all I have to do is finish the weekend off with work then Kwik trip on Monday and Wednesday, and the bookstore on Tuesday, then I have the next 4 days off from both jobs. Next Saturday is my 23rd birthday and I have no idea what im doing for that. So now I have to plug this back in and get back out on the bookstore floor. Later.

The thing about working double shifts

Is that they suck total ass.  11 hours yesterday between the 2 jobs. 12 hours today between the 2 jobs, and only 8 hours tomorrow at Kwik Trip. So I guess that's around 31 hours in what 3 days? something like that. But tomorrow my girlfriend and I are going to her friends house and watching Office Space and eating some Mexican food. Then on Thursday we're going to go see Knocked Up. She's seen it before and said it was hilarious. Ok I have to leave for work. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My life has improved

A lot of changes has been made since I last posted here. For the most part they all have been for the better. I got done with finals, which made me happy initially. I am also now dating a girl from my german class. Her name is Lindsey, and she's from Wisconsin. She is such a smart, amazing, person. Most of all, she is more beautiful then a morning sunrise. She makes me happy.

I have also started a second job. There was nothing wrong with my bookstore job, its just that I am not getting enough hours there. My second job is being a co-worker for Kwik Trip gas station. I pretty much expected to do everything that there is in the store to so. I ring the registers, cook some of the food, and clean. Oh man listen everybody, If you want to go to the cleanest gas station in Minnesota, go to a Kwik Trip. They are so tight on cleaning.

One of my buddies that was over in Iraq is home now for his 2 week leave. We went out last night to Applebee's to BS and drink. It was great.

Thats all for now, I'll try my best to be a better updater. I has so much going on in the last month, it just wasnt possible to sit down and write something until now. Later.

I'm a pretty happy kid

So a long while ago I said that I joined E-harmony.com. One of the first women to answer was a girl named Stephanie. She gave me her e-mail address, and so we have been e-mailing each other for a couple of weeks. Then last week I gave her my phone number, and then she gave me her's. So I called her last night and talked for a good portion of the hour, and it seemed to me that we hit it off fairly well. I asked her out after finals are all done with, because she has finals as well. So I'm looking forward to that. Also a reason why im happy is that, my dad scored some Red Sox lower level reserved tickets. Aparently they were just giving them away. Dude i'm so psyched!

A poem

Snodgrass Hill

I hold the line after repeated attack.
The enemy has thrown many asssualts
My line is breaking
And I need to hold it

I throw in fresh reserves
And I go on the offensive
I change small things about me
Hoping that it'll work
but it doesn work and gets thown back

I look for different options
There are not many, but to hurry up and wait
They are coming, but are 4 months away.
So what do I do when the enemy makes another charge?

Plain White T's

Hey there Delilah

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square cant shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listenClose your eyesL
isten to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time that we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This one's for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
wooooohwooooooooh woooooooooh

Lee's Surrender at Appomattox

It was on this day in 1865 that General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War. At that point, Lee's army consisted of about 25,000 soldiers, compared to Grant's army of more than 100,000. In the year leading up to the surrender, the Northern blockade of the South had made it almost impossible for the Confederate army to get proper supplies. Confederate soldiers were fighting without decent food, without proper clothing, in some cases without even shoes. Confederate numbers were also dwindling as many soldiers began to desert. So Lee and Grant met at the Appomattox Court House on this day in 1865, Palm Sunday, just after noon. After it was over, Grant said, "[I felt] sad and depressed at the downfall of a foe who had fought so long and valiantly and had suffered so much for a cause, though that cause was, I believe, the worst for which people ever fought." When the Union soldiers began to cheer and celebrate, Grant ordered them to be silent out of respect.Lee rode back to his camp, and crowds of Confederate soldiers along the road began to weep as he passed. When he reached his tent, Lee said to the crowd, "Go home now, and if you make as good citizens as you have soldiers, you will do well, and I shall always be proud of you. Goodbye, and God bless you all."

One small step for man, One giant leap for.....me

Well I've done it. I made a profile on match.com and on Eharmony. I dont have a profile pic yet, I have to steal my brothers digital camera for a little bit to get one. I read on other people's blogs that I frequent, that they tried it. So I thought why not give it a shot. I only signed up for the free parts, so Im not expecting a whole lot of hits until I start paying for it. We'll see if that happeneds some time.
I really havnt done any homework for the longest time. I really should start. I have to really start 2 papers this week, because they are due in a week and a half.
I sign up for classes this wednesday. I looked at the listed History classes and almost all of them, except 1 or 2 do not look interesting. So I am going to try to see or at the very least schedule a meeting with my History adviser on what I should take next fall. ok I got to go finish my laundry.

What might have been

What might have been

I always look at what might have been
If I had not gone away on vacation
She looks into her man's eyes
but there not mine

I went to visit a girl on a special day
and came home broken hearted.
I often wondered what might have been.
I wanted to tell her something
but it ended before I could

I watch the sunrise with a warm cup of coffee
I wonder what there is in store for me
I'll work hard for it, what ever it will be
So until then, I soldier on.

I am so bored

yes, yes I am. I have nothing big to do. I could study for school but who the heck wants to do that. I had to work yesterday, but that was it. Its becoming a lame ass weekend. It almost seems like its getting like that every weekend. School is done in 4 weeks. then its like 4 months of summer vacation. I have filed for housing on campus for next fall. I can't wait. As much as I like where I live there is just nothing to do here. Plus I'll be seeing more of my friends that I have made on campus. So I just have have to soldier on until early september. It cant come early enough.

God invented whiskey to keep the Irish from taking over the world.

Oh god whiskey. It is definatley the devils water. Last night I went to the Dubliner(?) in Duluth. It was so packed in there, but I got a 2 pints in there and a shot of good Irish whiskey. I called a cab and went back to my hotel room and had a couple of more beers as well. Then I made a couple of drunk posts on facebook and myspace. I made one drunk phone call to a girl I go to school with. She sounded pretty blitzed too. Then I went to sleep. I woke up without a hangover. Which is the best to wake up with. Before I went out, I had a huge mess of corned beef and cabbage and potatoes. I think that saved me from hurling all over. Other than that, Duluth was really boring. I went and got a new pair of shorts, new pair of shoes, 2 new pairs of sunglasses in the mall they had there. I went to Betty's Pies, had the fish and chips with a slice of Strawberry Rhubarb pie. Then for the evening I went to the Duluth Blackwoods, had the champagne chicken with linguini and a glass of Stella Artois (A very good Belgian beer). Like I said the trip was ok, probably wont go up there for a while. Well I have to go do a German Essay. Tschuss!

Go around the right flank and keep marching on

Theres this girl in my german class I like. I asked her out, and we went out. We talked online for hours. I mean for a. long. time. I was actually loosing sleep I was talking to this girl so much. Although she liked this other guy she told me, and then she said she feels bad about me. I told her that it was okay, and that It's better to get everything out in the open before someone gets led on. And you know what, I am alright with it I guess. So yeah, thats whats pretty much has happend in the last 2 weeks for me.
Im going up to Duluth for spring break. I know ultra lame, but thats really all my budget can afford for a dpring break trip. So Im going to Grand Marais for the first day, and the second Im just going to bum around Duluth. Well thats it, I'll let you know how it went.

Oh Ellin What can I do?

I have that song stuck in my head. It's by a band called Gob. Okay I joined up with Dawn's fantasy baseball league. I hope I get the players on my list I came up with. Today I was supposed to go to my uncle's house in Lewiston Minnesota, but since the weather is so crappy out I'll be staying home. So today I have to do some reading for school. I think I might try to go to Half-price books today since I have a 15% coupon. That's it for me today, pretty laid back.

Life is but a haze

I dont know what it is. I have been in a funk for a couple of weeks now. Ever since school started I havn't felt he want/ drive to do aything. I was the same way back in october. That lasted for around a month. Sometimes my day repeats itself for 3 or 4 days in a row. I go to school, come home, do some homework, watch the news and then go to sleep. Or after I go to school, I go to work, then home, watch the news and go to sleep. On the weekends I am usually working. In the evening I call some of my buddies up but they are either working or gone already. I wasn't usually like this. When I went to Inver Hills Community College I was a lot happier. I was in some classes with other kids previous and so I had friends there. At the U of M there are just huge mongrel hordes of people. I talk to a few people there.
I tried calling my buddy Jon earlier this week and left a voicemail. That was fine, I was on a break from work and decided to give him a buzz. Tonight he call's me up and asks me if I want to go with him to a bar in Castle rock where one of his work friends is playing. I told him I really want to but cant. I have to work on one of my history papers that's due next tuesday. So i'm stuck until next weekend to do something fun with him.
Im the type of person that is nostalgic. I look into my past, like high school for instance, and see all the fun I had with my friends there. After high school I went to college and the rest of my friends went to work. So when my friends want to do something I usually have to do school work. I guess I try to hold on to what I once had. But I know I can't because that period is overwith. dad is always working, one brother is at another college, other one is in high school, my mom works nights and sleeps days. All that and the fact I dont ever have any money to do anything. My job I use to like going to. Now I go there and cant wait until I am done. I just go to the back and do returns for a good portion of the night. The one good thing I have to look forward to is my springbreak. I am going to take a mini-road trip up north, go see Grand Marais, Gooseberry Falls, and other places. Thats still 4 weeks away, so I'll hang in there. After spring break it's only another 6-8 weeks until summer break. Okay I really have to get back to my paper.

Baby it's cold outside

So last night on my way home from work my alternator on my van decided to give out and the battery started to die. I was traveling south on Cedar ave. and then my van decided to go apeshit. I pulled over to the shoulder and called my dad to tell him what happened. After that I called AAA and was put on hold for about 7-8 minutes before the operator got to me. While I was on hold it got real cold real fast. Luckily I had packed a blanket in my van. I was also wearing a sweatshirt and a leather jacket. Still though it was frickin' freezin! After my dad got there and the tow truck we preceeded back home. On the way home we past a church tht had a light display that shows the time and tempreture. It said it was -21 degrees. So I was in my van without heat for about 30 minutes. Boy, spring break and summer break cant get here fast enough.

Im looking for apartments

Yes that's right. I am loking for apartments in the south metro area. I have asked one of my friends, he said he was interested. Although he also said that has started making truck payments and started a full time job. So we will see later on if he still wants/can do it. There is another guy I know that really wants to get out of his parents house. So there is another option. I have checked a little bit around for 3-bedroom apartments in Eagen, Apple Valley, and Burnsville. The rang is from $847-1200. I was think of somewhere around 950 for all three of us if possible. I have checked forrent.com and got some apartment catalogues to look at. Does anyone else know of any nice places in the south metro that are reasonable? The two guys from above and I are going to go see the movie "Smoking Aces" this saturday night. I haven't been to a movie in the longest time. I really can't think of the last time I went to a movie,I know it was before halloween.

Meh

I havn't posted on this in the longest time. We had to put one of my dogs to sleep like 2 weeks ago. I really didn't feel like blogging or anything. He was 16 so he had a long life. We all kind of knew he was going to go. But even still we all didn't want it to come.

School has started. I am kicking total ass in my American Civil War class. German and my Hitler Europe class are going to take a lot of work this semster. My brother wanted to know if I wanted to go to Brit's pub tonight, but I can't because I have alot of reading to do along with a reading guide for my 20th cent. U.S. history class. I also have a quiz in German tomorrow, and I cant really remember how to put a sentance together. So I guess i'll tell him I cant go. We can go probably next week. During the winter Brit's have evey wednesday night for a month, a movie night. They have drink specials and the movie is free, so it's fun to go to.

I really don't want to go to school anymore. Anyone that knows me, knows how much I don't want to go to school. I think if I make it to spring break I will be fine. Then I think it's just 6-8 weeks until summer.

Work has been alright lately. Nothing big has/is happening there. There has been a rumor that our store is supposed to close when our lease is up this fall. No one has said anything from corporate at all. I dont think they would until probably a couple weeks until we actually close. Then I guess I cross over to the dark side: Barnes and Noble. Hey Dawn do I get ninja jedi skills when I cross over? okay I really have to go cram in some reading before my class later all.

P.S. I promise I will try to blog more than I have before!!

I'm still alive

I had a pretty good Christmas. I got a home brew kit. I started it last week and sometime in the middle of this week it should be fermented and red to bottle. I hope it turns out all right. New Years was good too. I took my brothers to my friends house who was having a party and stayed there until after the ball dropped. My littlest brother and I both had a buzz going that night., after the party died down, I had my other brother drive us home. I never really make new years resolutions. I think the last one I made was like 10 years ago and it didn't last that long. School starts in a week and I am not looking forward to it. Ok I have to go to sleep , I got work tomorrow. Later
