A poem

Snodgrass Hill

I hold the line after repeated attack.
The enemy has thrown many asssualts
My line is breaking
And I need to hold it

I throw in fresh reserves
And I go on the offensive
I change small things about me
Hoping that it'll work
but it doesn work and gets thown back

I look for different options
There are not many, but to hurry up and wait
They are coming, but are 4 months away.
So what do I do when the enemy makes another charge?

Plain White T's

Hey there Delilah

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square cant shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listenClose your eyesL
isten to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time that we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This one's for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
wooooohwooooooooh woooooooooh

Lee's Surrender at Appomattox

It was on this day in 1865 that General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War. At that point, Lee's army consisted of about 25,000 soldiers, compared to Grant's army of more than 100,000. In the year leading up to the surrender, the Northern blockade of the South had made it almost impossible for the Confederate army to get proper supplies. Confederate soldiers were fighting without decent food, without proper clothing, in some cases without even shoes. Confederate numbers were also dwindling as many soldiers began to desert. So Lee and Grant met at the Appomattox Court House on this day in 1865, Palm Sunday, just after noon. After it was over, Grant said, "[I felt] sad and depressed at the downfall of a foe who had fought so long and valiantly and had suffered so much for a cause, though that cause was, I believe, the worst for which people ever fought." When the Union soldiers began to cheer and celebrate, Grant ordered them to be silent out of respect.Lee rode back to his camp, and crowds of Confederate soldiers along the road began to weep as he passed. When he reached his tent, Lee said to the crowd, "Go home now, and if you make as good citizens as you have soldiers, you will do well, and I shall always be proud of you. Goodbye, and God bless you all."

One small step for man, One giant leap for.....me

Well I've done it. I made a profile on match.com and on Eharmony. I dont have a profile pic yet, I have to steal my brothers digital camera for a little bit to get one. I read on other people's blogs that I frequent, that they tried it. So I thought why not give it a shot. I only signed up for the free parts, so Im not expecting a whole lot of hits until I start paying for it. We'll see if that happeneds some time.
I really havnt done any homework for the longest time. I really should start. I have to really start 2 papers this week, because they are due in a week and a half.
I sign up for classes this wednesday. I looked at the listed History classes and almost all of them, except 1 or 2 do not look interesting. So I am going to try to see or at the very least schedule a meeting with my History adviser on what I should take next fall. ok I got to go finish my laundry.

What might have been

What might have been

I always look at what might have been
If I had not gone away on vacation
She looks into her man's eyes
but there not mine

I went to visit a girl on a special day
and came home broken hearted.
I often wondered what might have been.
I wanted to tell her something
but it ended before I could

I watch the sunrise with a warm cup of coffee
I wonder what there is in store for me
I'll work hard for it, what ever it will be
So until then, I soldier on.

I am so bored

yes, yes I am. I have nothing big to do. I could study for school but who the heck wants to do that. I had to work yesterday, but that was it. Its becoming a lame ass weekend. It almost seems like its getting like that every weekend. School is done in 4 weeks. then its like 4 months of summer vacation. I have filed for housing on campus for next fall. I can't wait. As much as I like where I live there is just nothing to do here. Plus I'll be seeing more of my friends that I have made on campus. So I just have have to soldier on until early september. It cant come early enough.
